Buckie Pottery Visit

P5-7 were treated to a trip to The Buckie Pottery Company. They were met by Tanya and Jim who showed them the pot they were going to make - an irregular coil pot.

Everyone received a ball of clay, to make the pot base, and there were long strips of clay for the coils which would go on top. It was important for them to remember to "scratch and slip" before trying to attach any additional pieces to their base. Everyone was focused and had a brilliant time. The pot was then painted and left with Tanya for firing. She will add a glaze to the pots and then re-fire them. The finished masterpieces should be available in about 3 weeks.

What a fantastic trip and one that many of us will do again.
